Changing your password regularly is an important security practice.

Connect to your server

Connect to your VPS via SSH.

Run the password command

Execute the following command:
passwd

Enter new password

Type your new password when prompted and press Enter. You’ll be asked to confirm it by typing it again.
The password will not be displayed as you type. This is normal security behavior.

Password Best Practices

A strong password should:
  • Be at least 12 characters long
  • Include uppercase and lowercase letters
  • Include numbers and special characters
  • Not contain personal information or common words
  • Be unique (not used elsewhere)
Store your password securely. If you lose it, you may need to reinstall your VPS or contact support.
